You guessed it. I'm in:

BIOTECH!

...again.

(I'm still not dead.

Unlike Anna Nicole Smith)

(...too early?)

Anyways, I'm in biotech and we have to deliver speech on a given topic. The whole time topics were being assigned -- I was second to last -- I was saying to myself:

"Don't get a hard one... Don't get a controversial one... Don't get a BROAD one..."

And of course, I get:

"Should we conduct embryotic stem cell research?"

Sigh. Damnit.

But, it was actually pretty surprising. The same conclusions I've came to I saw a lot of other professionals have thought about. For example, why not use the aborted embryo's that mother's give up for the research? That kills two birds with one stone (not literally.)

Well, I've taken a positive outlook on stem cell stuff, but I'm still not certain about that position.

Frickin' controversy...

But yeah. It's Friday. And I have a spanish song stuck in my head we learned today.

Uno de enero, dos de febrero,

tres de marzo, cuatro de abril,

cinco de mayo, seis de junio, siete de julio

San Fermin

The whole song is that one catchy verse repeated four times. No wonder it gets stuck in people's heads. Maybe Ms. Abrams is working for the government on some sort of, mind controlling mission.

Well, in that case.

Government: 1

Us: 0

Sleeping In... What a Wish

Well, now. I'm here in Biotech...

again.

The fact I'm here isn't surprising.

It's the fact I'm not dead from going to this class.

I've gotten plenty of sleep some days. But, I still seem to fall asleep in here. Odd. Oh, well. I have to suffer through it to stay at Jordan. I'm definitely getting a transfer next year. I'm going to be persistant as hell.

Today starts play practice for me. It's the children and Maria who practice singing. I guess that's what we're doing. I'm not too sure. I'm kinda nervous about not knowing a lot of the songs I'll have to sing. I know the majority, but I don't want Mr. Lupton, the choral director, to get mad at me. He's kinda scary. I'm not too horrible at sightreading vocal stuff, so that's a plus. I'm excited though.

I also have drumline today. We're going to set the third movement, Conflict, to drill. It's going to be absolute chaos. That's for sure. I swear to god, if the rest of the bassline doesn't know their music, some sticks are going up some asses.

No fake.

Ah, well, we have at least a month to clean, so it'll be okay. There are only really two sections of music + drill I worry about. It'll be okay.

At least I hope.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://musistentialism.blogspot.com/2007/01/sleeping-in-what-wish.html' title='Sleeping In... I just finished up finding 10 websites that relate to biotech. I'll then have to present three, and write a paper on one. How is someone supposed to write a paper on a website? I don't get it.

Anyways, I'm probably just going to use the Wikipedia one or the About.com one. Those are both really good websites all together, so the information is broad enough to work.

So, the first few days of school have been pretty good. I love Ms. Abrams in Spanish. She's really funny, really sarcastic, and she knows what she's doing. Biotech on the other hand is just really... well, let's just say it doesn't move much faster than the two turtles in the aquarium in the room. Mr. Sifford kind of drags on and on and on and on. It's really trite the whole class period. Third period is just Wind Ensemble, which is really no different from the old third period marching band sit-down thing. Oh, well. I still love it. Math is awesome. Ms. Ganci is really laid back. She's kind of like:

"Well, you guys should just like, do this page. And if you don't get it, we'll just, like, do it as a class. Don't worry about it. I don't get that problem either."

But that's about all thats interesting going on at the moment.

Jillian's party is tonight.

Holla!

Drill + Music = Mess

Today for drumline, we combined the drill and music of Life and Love (2 of the 3 Movements). It's pretty crazy. It's to be expected that it'd be crazy and messy. For the first day though, it wasn't too horrible. If everyone just memorizes their music, then this won't happen. I can do it.

Well, let's start. Sorry I haven't been updating a lot. I'm just kinda busy. I'm also a bit emotionless. I'm kind of going through the motions of life at the moment so nothing really interesting is happening. First bit of good news: first semester is over. That means no more Ms. Swann! w00t! I'm going to bad sad about Creative Writing and Civics. I loved Mr. Burns. Luckily, I'll get Mr. Albright next year, so that's good. So, basically, this is what's happening next semester for me (schedule wise.)

1st: Ms. Abrahms - Spanish I
2nd: Unknown - Biotech I
3rd: Mr. Weiss - Wind Ensemble
4th: Ms. Ganci - Honors Integraded III

It's nothing too entirely exciting. I hear that they're all good teachers (minus biotech 'cuz I have no idea who they are).

So, moving on, Drumline.

WOO!

Today was drill day where we learned all the drill to the show. Apart from some dissapointment in focus and bad marching, it was really fun. The drill's really cool/intense. It's funny when you pair it next to marching band drill. It's a lot faster and shorter. But, whatever works.

Life's going pretty good right now. I can heave a sigh of relief because my sleep schedule has been off dramatically. It's getting really bad. I keep falling asleep around 4:30, and that only gives me two hours of sleep. Baad.

What's worse, our exam schedule is changed. We have one three-hour exam a day. PLUS, the exam days are FULL days. Not half. We don't get to get out early just because of some stupid error I think. Boo. I finally see a break in view and... *CRASH*. Gone. Game over, man! Game over.

I'm worred about exams, though. Especially English. I never know what curveball Ms. Swann will throw at us. It's a bad ball. All her questions are subjective, vague, and just, ugh. It requires superior memory of small details. There are always exceptions. I just really wish she would chill with her...self.

Hm, other than that, things are going pretty good. I'm chillin' here, sippin on some diet coke with a bowl of mac and cheese and listening to Dave Matthews Band.

Mmhm.

I can't wait for next semester.

My Grandma's Bossy

You best believe.

West Virginia, Bitches

Well, it appears I'll be in WV for New Years.

Oh, joy.

But, it doesn't have to be all bad.

So, here are the ways you can contact me:

Just Leave Me An IM - Yep... this one is simple. Just give me a ring! I'm going to be sooooo bored on the road there -- 7 hour drive. Also, I'm going to be bored THERE, too. Please give me a call! Doesn't matter when, where, how, or why. Just DO IT! However, preferably call me after 9 est. or during the weekend. But, I really don't care if you call after. It just saves a few minutes. type='text'>Ride!

Yesterday was pretty beast, I've gotta say. So, like, 3 people slept over. Drew, Terrell and Nathan. Anyways, we wake up and Nathan decides to go home to shower and all that good stuff. Meanwhile, Drew, Terrell and I are just chillin' in my family room, watching Family Guy and eating. Eventually, we decided on going to see Eragon.

Well, little Miss Emily Reep decided to run away and come to my house. So, she came too. Then... Terrell left because he was going out of town. Anyways, we hop in the car, meet Nathan in the foodcourt and chow down. I had Chinese, of course. It was actually pretty good. I was mad at Drew though, because he kept poking holes in my damn drink. Eventually, we met up with Hannah, Ashley Jones, and Liane. They ate and we headed down to the movie theatre.

We were running a tad late, and we got in just as the movie started. It was pretty good. It would have been better if I read the book... or worse. I really craved popcorn for some reason. Anyways, w00t!

So, we left and decided to go get some ice cream (considering Ashely Jones works at Marble Slab). Emily and I split a birthday cake/double dark chocolate pint and everyone else was happy with what they got. Hoorah!

And everything else went downhill from there.

Yay, Southpoint!

Okay, Erika's over and she wants some Mac and Cheese with potato bread, so I'm out.

20 Days Later

Huh.

I guess I really am bad at this whole, blogging thing. I dunno. Maybe I should get more involved. Anyways, I'm in my creative writing class and we're currently in the computer lab. I remember last year, when I used my Xanga, I'd always write in it when I was here. Ah, memories. Oh, well. Now I've moved on.

So, the band concert from Lowes Grove yesterday was good. I got to look back on some fond memories and make some new ones. I miss middle school. It wasn't all hyped up on stupid things like high school. I loved Mrs. Delargy and all my cool teachers. Not that the teachers here aren't cool, but I had a lot of a stronger bond with my middle school ones. High school teachers are too stressed out to become friends with their students. Sure, they may know some stuff about me. But, hey, I get by.

I'm really mad at my English teacher at the moment. She gave me an 88 on my Creative Writing project because of my language. I asked what she meant by that, and she pointed out the fact that I cursed. I was really mad. I kept telling her that it was all part of the character but no. She was like, "put stars or exclamation points or something."

Ugh.

English is my thing. I shouldn't be getting a B in it. I mean, there's nothing wrong with a B. I'm fine with that.

But Ms. Swann is bordering on ridiculous.

Moving Time

Well, after a while, Xanga kind of gets to you. I know everyone says that Xanga really sucked and all that, but I'll never lose faith in Xanga. It was awesome. I just thought it was time to move on to bigger and better things,

like Blogger.

Anyways, this is my new home. It's even better than Xanga because you can comment in it regardless of if you have a blog or not. This way, my Anti-Xanga buddies can make fun of me for moving and praise me for ditching Xanga.

I'll miss her.

So, here's to a new beginning.

*clanks glass*
